D209. John Laroch, London (1785-1828). A fine quality bell striking bracket clock with a very well figured mahogany case, of good colour and patination, circa 1800.

The twin fusee movement has decorative engraving to the border of the backplate with flowers depicted in the four corners. The securing brackets, pendulum bob and back-cock are also engraved.

The white painted dial, with original ground, has strike/silent regulation in the arch, Roman numerals and brass hands. The signature is below 12 o’clock and calendar-work (0-31) above 12 o’clock.

The case of excellent figuring and patination and a pleasing warm colour, has a brass mould to the inner aspect of the door. The front corners of the case also have brasswork.
