D 206. Henri Jacot No 10115. A fine gilded gorge cased carriage clock striking the hours and halves on a gong. Circa 1870.
The movement bears Jacot’s mark, a parrot, on the backplate together with the clocks number, which is repeated on the bottom of the base-plate. The silvered platform, with lever escapement, is well executed. The white enamelled dial has roman hour and smaller arabic minute numerals. There is also an alarm dial.

The first Henri Jacot worked at 31 Rue Montmorency, Paris and exhibited in Paris for the first time in1855 and subsequently went on to win many medals. He was succeeded by his nephew of the same name in1868. They are known for the superb quality of their carriage clocks.
