D144. A small and attractive burr maple “four glass” mantel clock by Vogt and Co , 35 Wigmore Street (London) circa 1850.

This well proportioned clock, with bevelled top and side glasses, has a gadrooned top and ogee bottom mould and rests on shallow block feet. The 4" square silvered dial, which bears Vogt’s signature to the centre, has delicately engraved roman numerals and spandrels to the four corners.

The single train chain fusee four pillar movement has rectangular plates and the pendulum is provided with a clamp.

Height 8.6" (21.5cms.)
